SUPERSTITIONS

INSTRUCTION: Write down some superstitions you know from Ecuador or any other country. Use the first conditional to express the effect or consequences of them. 

EXAMPLE

- Eggs and evil

Ecuadorians believe that eggs are the cure for evil spirits.Therefore:

"If you rub a person's face and body with an egg it will absorb bad energy"

How are they different?

Elijah Wood is older than Jaden Smith. Elijah is 34 years old while Jaden is just 17. However Elijah is as tall as Jaden, both are 1.68 meters high. Also, Jaden is also an actor as Elijah. However, Jaden is also a rapper. Elijah is more handsome than Jaden, but he is thinner than Elijah. Better still, both are very talented. 

INSTRUCTION:  Write now about two of your favorite actors, singers and people you admire by comaring them. Use comparatives and superlatives.

UNIT 3 - We were walking home...

A rainy day!

Yesterday, it was raining and thundering all day. Ann was playing inside the house. She wanted to be outside. She wasn't playing outside because it was raining. She was feeling tired of being trapped inside the house. Ann was trying to keep busy inside the house. She was reading her book until the electricity went out. Then, she decided to practice her sewing. She was practicing sewing until lunchtime. After lunch, she sat by the window and watched the rain. While Ann was watching the rain, the phone rang. Her mother was calling to say she was coming home. She was bringing a new game. Ann and her mother ate ice cream and played the game. While they were playing, the rain stopped! But Ann didn't even notice. She was having such a good time with her mom!

INSTRUCTION: Write a short story of what happened to you in the past or create one. It can be a funny, spooky or sad story. Use the past continuous with <while/when>.

A snapshot of my childhood!

In this Unit we learned how to talk about past habits with the use of USED TO and conjunctions to have coherence and join the ideas. Therefore, this time you all have to choose one topic of the little box below and talk about it. An example is giving to you to have a clearer idea!

When was your last ...?

First, WATCH this video before starting to write!

Now, write about something funny, sad, or terrifying that happened to you in the past and about what you did during the last week! Don't forget to use past time expression (yesterday, last week, a year ago, etc)!

Example: 

I will never forget my vacation in Atacames. It was amazing! My family and I went to Atacames to weeks ago. We enjoyed delicious food and we swam all the day. My sister  found the food awful. However, when we went to the market, I got lost! I couldn't find either my mother or sister! I was too scared. Almost 2 hours passed away, when I got to a restaurant. There I saw my mother and sister having lunch. So, I realized that they even noticed that I wasn't there! It was terrible! :(
